Matthew L. Esson, MD

Dr. Esson was born in Missouri, but has been able to call Colorado home since mo

ving here in 1980. He is the Medical Director of Western Nephrology’s home dialysis program as well as, the Medical Director of the Thornton Kidney Center. In addition to his responsibilities with Western Nephrology he is on the clinical faculty at the University of Colorado. He greatly enjoys teaching the next generation of nephrologists. Having served on the boards of the National Kidney Foundation as well as St. Anthony North Hospital, Dr. Esson is committed to serving our community. Most importantly, his wife and two sons are great sources of support, happiness, and inspiration. They spend their free time fishing, hunting, hiking, and exploring Colorado’s mountains every season of the year.
