Katherine Akers, MD

Dr. Akers grew up in Houston, TX. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University before returning to Houston to attend medical school at The University of Texas. She later completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University where she was Chief Nephrology Fellow.

Dr. Akers enjoys snowshoeing, hiking and exploring the Colorado outdoors with her husband and two dogs. Dr. Akers believes getting to know her patients on a personal level allows her to better individualize and meet their care needs.
