Research Studies
Western Nephrology has been actively involved on understanding the patterns and underlying mechanisms of our field of study. Our research department is situated in our Arvada Clinic where we are proud to have created a creative, collaborative and open-minded team.
For more than 3 decades, Western Nephrology has been actively involved in numerous clinical trials on hypertension, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury and end stage renal disease. Our Research Program has an excellent reputation and has become a preferred research site with pharmaceutical sponsors, clinical research organizations, and most importantly, our patients. Many of these Research studies have resulted in new drugs being approved for kidney disease. This has helped Western Nephrology and patients around the world.
Our staff of dedicated research coordinators, assistants and our physicians view this as an important opportunity to bring the most advanced care to our patients. If you would like information on ongoing trials, please speak to your physician or call our Research Office at 303-232-3366 and ask to speak with one of our research coordinators.

What is a clinical trial?
Clinical trials, also known as research studies or patient studies, are essential in the fight against disease. They determine if new treatments are safe and effective and work better than current treatments.
What about nephrology (kidney) trial?
In nephrology, clinical trials help us find new ways to prevent and treat kidney disease. They are a vital tool in improving the quality of life for people during and after treatment.
When you take part in a nephrology clinical trial, you add to our knowledge about kidney disease and help improve care for future patients.
What questions should I ask about the clinical trial?
-
What is the purpose of the study?
-
What do I have to do?
-
How long will the study last?
-
What are the risks and side effects?
-
Will it cost me anything?
-
Will I receive money?
-
Can I withdraw at any time?
-
Will the study help me now?
